Welcome to Coach's Corner!

Welcome to the gym! This is where the fun happens. I have a special interest in my job here at CES. This is my home school also. I attended Charleston from kindergarten until I graduated high school in 1994. Yes, it was a K-12 school and I was here through it all. Here I learned my love of sports while playing baseball, basketball & football from the 6th - 12th grades. I went to UT-Chattanooga to play football and decided to be be a teacher and coach. After stops at Blue Springs, Waterville & Michigan Avenue elementary schools I came back home to Charleston. This is my fifth year here. I spent the last four years coaching football at Ocoee Middle & Walker Valley High School. My wife Tonya and I just had our first baby. Grayson Chandler Evans was born August 7, 2008. One of my proudest moments was when all the students brought in baby gifts for us. When I do have some free time, I'll be hunting or fishing for something. I love being outdoors. I enjoy teaching PE at the age level. The kids have so much fun, they don't even realize they are learning the basic skills, coordination, and fundamentals they need to develop physically and mentally to live a long and healthy life. My wife says I play all day. Maybe so, but we do much more than play. Ask your child what they learned in PE today!
